How does tracking work?

When does a mailing count as opened?

Tracking which mailing has been opened is done by calling an invisible image and a CSS file, which are located directly on our servers. A mailing is also marked as opened, when the recipient clicks on a link in the mailing.

Default settings

The recipient has enabled their e-mail software to display images

The mailing immediately counts as read once the recipient opens it.

The recipient has disabled image display in their e-mail software

The mailing only counts as read if:

  • The recipient manually sets their e-mail software to display images
  • Or, when the recipient clicks on a link in the mailing.
